Pernicious: having a harmful effect, especially in a gradual or subtle way.
This piece contains my affection for the cello not only as an instrument but as an extension of myself. However, the love that is deeply rooted in my heart cannot mask the physical damage that I unintentionally cause when playing. Through photographic imagery and materials such as bleached abaca and a cello, Pernicious Love is meant to embody the fact that no matter what we love, there is always a price, an opposing effect, a lesson.
